A commissioned portrait is an exploration of essence, not only a likeness.
Through dialogue and photographic reference, I create a painting that reflects not only how a person appears, but their spirit as well.
Each commission is approached with the same contemplative process as my original works.
01 MESSAGE ME
What’s your vision? Feel welcome to include reference photos, color preferences, general themes you would like to explore.
The commission process can be as open or detailed as you would like. Some clients come to me with a size or color preference and then leave the rest of it up to my creative inspiration, while others have a specific idea in mind.
02 THE PROCESS
Once I receive your message, we can begin the process of bringing your vision to life.
We will discuss your budget and wall space to decide upon the right canvas size, and color palette. I am happy to prepare a digital mock-up of the concept if requested.
I invest abundant energy and time in my art, and every piece I make is sacred to me. So that this remains true, I don't paint everything; it has to speak to me. When I honor this, it works out better for both of us.
03 PAYMENT
I currently use PayPal invoice for all commissions. If you don't have PayPal, we can work it out.
Clients are asked to review a contract that solidifies all logistical details of the art including size, price, and timeline. Then, to pay a 50% deposit that secures the commission spot.
PS. As a guide for pricing, my current rate is approximately $500 per square foot. Additional costs may be factored in for multiple people, varnish, and/or custom sizes. I have a minimum canvas size of 18x24in.
04 THE WAIT
Each original painting is created slowly and intentionally. From canvas preparation through the final protective varnish and packaging, your artwork typically takes 4–5 months to complete, depending on its size. I'll share updates throughout the process, giving you a glimpse into each stage of its creation before it arrives at your home.
05 FROM STUDIO TO YOUR HOME
Once your painting is finished, I'll reach out and send over the final invoice (including shipping fees). When the payment goes through, your custom piece will be sent out for delivery. I'll add the tracking info to your invoice so that you know exactly when it is getting to you.
